Critically Acclaimed LES APACHES and I AM YOURS Also Premiere
Erotic thriller CANNIBAL is the chilling, poetic tale of a man who has long been compelled to kill as he slowly awakens to the possibility of human connection and love. Winner of the Goya Award for Best Cinematography, CANNIBAL opens in select theaters nationally on July 25th and will be released day and date on cable and digital premium VOD on July 25th as well. Starring Antonio de la Torre (Pedro Almodóvar’s I’m So Excited), The New York Times calls CANNIBAL, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, “sumptuous!”
In addition to major cable VOD providers (Comcast, TimeWarner, Verizon, etc.), CANNIBAL will be available for rent on platforms including iTunes, Amazon Instant, Google Play, Vudu, Xbox, Playstation and Samsung the same day it hits select theaters nationwide.
Additionally, Film Movement premieres LES APACHES (July 8, a Cannes Film Festival Directors’ Fortnight selection) and I AM YOURS (July 15) on cable VOD in July. Variety calls LES APACHES, the true story of crime-driven teens spinning out of control on a tourist-happy beach in Corsica, a “sexy adolescent thriller…clued in to the generation depicted.”
I AM YOURS (July 15), Norway’s submission to the 2013 Oscars, follows an immigrant’s rebirth amidst the start of a seductive affair. A Toronto International Film Festival premiere, The Hollywood Reporter says “strong acting, an intelligent screenplay and sharp direction take center stage in this complex contemporary drama. Both films premiere on VOD (Comcast, TimeWarner, Cox, etc.) prior to their home video releases slated for Fall 2014.
Film Movement’s holdover on demand programming includes one of the best-reviewed indie films of the year, Anthony Chen’s assured debut ILO ILO. Winner of the 2013 Cannes Film Festival Camera d’Or, the film continues a strong theatrical run in select cities and is available to millions of households on VOD. GRIGRIS, BORROWED TIME and AMBROSIA continue their on demand runs, as well.
