Shriekfest Film Festival to Screen Los Angeles Premiere of Time Lapse
The annual Los Angeles competition will kick off with an opening night gala October 2
The Shriekfest Film Festival, an international horror/sci-fi film and screenplay competition, has announced its 2014 lineup and is slated to screen the sci-fi mind-bender Time Lapse on Saturday, October 4 at 7:45 p.m. It will be the third feature of the evening, following a block of short films that begin at noon.
The film, written by Bradley King and BP Cooper (and directed by King), focuses on three friends who discover a camera that takes pictures of the future. When they try to use the camera for their own personal gains, they find that playing with time creates paradoxes and conflicts that are difficult (if not impossible) to resolve. And they find themselves making choices that cannot be undone.
A trailer and tickets for the film can be found on the Shriekfest website.
In addition to Time Lapse, Shriekfest will screen nine other features, including the haunting Alice D.; the world premiere of Nightmare Code, starring Andrew J. West, who plays Gareth in The Walking Dead; the US premiere of the sci-fi infused Hungerford; the L.A. premiere of the apocalyptic Chrysalis; the world premiere of the Halloween-themed feature House of Purgatory; the world premiere of the slasher-influenced Kill Game; the L.A. premiere of Bag Boy Lover Boy; the US premiere of the tense Zugzwang; and the world premiere of the terrifying Berkshire County. Many of the films will be followed by Q&As with the cast or filmmakers.
In addition to the 10 features, 32 outstanding and diverse international short films, covering just about every aspect of horror, sci-fi, and fantasy.
The Shriekfest Film Festival runs October 2 – 5, 2014. An opening night party will take place at Boardners/Club Sinister in Hollywood; the rest of the festival will be at the iconic Raleigh Studios on Melrose Blvd.
Shriekfest, now in its 14th year, was created in July 2001 by Denise Gossett and has grown into the longest-running and one of the largest horror and sci-fi film festivals in the country. Since its inception, Shriekfest has offered young and upcoming writers, actors, and producers a chance to have their work screened and rated by peers.
