“Haunted Trailer” is definitely a raunchy comedy with a lots of dirty humor, so if you do not like this kind of movie I give you permission to stop reading now. OK…you’re still with me. I am not a fan myself of this type of humor, but I am a fan of redneck humor and “Haunted Trailer” has a ton of it. Your first clue to what kind of film it is, is the fact that porn star Ron Jeremy is in it. It is not a porn, and Jeremy is actually pretty good in this flick as the evil Genie that is going to destroy the earth. The rednecks in this movie are a family that lives in a trailer. They are hysterical!
The family consists of Momma who is constantly yelling at her three kids to shut up. Momma is played by Joe Grisaffi, yes, Momma is played by a guy. Grisaffi is wonderful as Momma because she aint’ foolin’ no one. She is a guy for sure. The knucklehead brothers Elvis (Jacob Byrd) and Aaron (Jeremy James Douglas Norton) are always running around in their underwear doing stupid things and lusting after their hot sister Prissy (Lauren Leal). The acting was top notch in this movie as weird as the story was. There was some great running humor that I loved like when they were all in the living room and all of the sudden Prissy would say “Oh, I’ll get it”. She would then get up and answer the door and someone was always there, even though there was no knock or doorbell. Very funny.
Another funny scene to watch for is one where one of those singing “Billy Bass” wall hanging starts singing a song with rude lyrics. It was great! My absolute favorite part of the movie that actually had me laughing out loud, or LOL as kids say, were the commercials that were on the TV in the movie. “Penny on a Tape” It’s for fixin’ things, complete with a song and a totally funny guy who keeps saying “Penny on a Tape!”. The fake product is actually a penny stuck to a small piece of electrical tape that is being sold on an infomercial, with an easy installment payment plan, I might add. These commercials should be uploaded to Youtube, because they are funny as all hell, and stand on their own.
In the end, the family of misfit rednecks hire the TV Evangelist, Reverend Wiggems (Stephen Joseph) to exorcise their trailer to remove the evil spirit and bring back some normalcy to their lives, which I’m sure, were never too normal to begin with. Can Wiggems cleanse the trailer? Will the boys get lucky with their sister? Will Momma ever shave her hairy legs? You know how to find out. Watch the flick.
Again, not my kind humor as far as all of the fart jokes and what not, but extremely well shot, with lots of good CGI. A tightly written story by Chuck Norfolk, Steven Scott Norfolk and Tim Norfolk. This group of filmmakers know what they are doing and it shows in “Haunted Trailer”.
